a) Comece pelo polinômio característico. Aqui \text{tr}(M) = -2+3 = 1 e \det(M) = (-2)(3) - (1)(-7) = 1. Logo, pelo teorema de Cayley-Hamilton:
M^2 - M + I = 0 \Rightarrow M^2 = M - I.
Conferindo diretamente: M^2 = \begin{bmatrix} -3 & 1 \\ -7 & 2 \end{bmatrix} = M - I.
Multiplicando por M:
M^3 = M^2 - M = (M - I) - M = -I.
Portanto M^6 = (M^3)^2 = I, e as potências se repetem com período 6. Basta o resto da divisão do expoente por 6:
- 2020 = 6\cdot 336 + 4 \Rightarrow M^{2020} = M^4 = M^3 M = -M.
- 2022 = 6\cdot 337 \Rightarrow M^{2022} = I.
- 2024 = 6\cdot 337 + 2 \Rightarrow M^{2024} = M^2 = M - I.
- 2025 = 6\cdot 337 + 3 \Rightarrow M^{2025} = M^3 = -I.
- 2029 = 6\cdot 338 + 1 \Rightarrow M^{2029} = M.
Somando:
-M + I + (M - I) - I + M = M - I.
Como M - I = \begin{bmatrix} -3 & 1 \\ -7 & 2 \end{bmatrix}, a soma vale:
\begin{bmatrix} -3 & 1 \\ -7 & 2 \end{bmatrix}
