Kate Bush “really moved” by ‘Running Up That Hill’
hitting N.º 1

Kate Bush is “overwhelmed” by the renewed affection for her decades-old song, “Running Up That Hill.” The singer posted ___ statement to her website about how ___ 1985 track is being played everywhere after being featured on ___ latest season of “Stranger Things.” (...) Para classificar uma palavra, observe a função que ela exerce na frase, e não só a sua forma. Um número pode ser substantivo ("She got a 10"), mas também pode vir antes de um substantivo para caracterizá-lo.

No trecho "the 1985 track", o núcleo do sintagma é track ("faixa", "música"), que é o substantivo. A palavra 1985 vem logo antes dele e indica a que faixa o texto se refere: a faixa de 1985, isto é, lançada nesse ano.

Em inglês, o adjetivo fica antes do substantivo e o modifica. É exatamente o que 1985 faz aqui: modifica track, dizendo de que ano ela é.

Os demais usos não cabem:

  1. Substantivo: 1985 não é o núcleo, pois "track" é que o é.
  2. Verbo: não há ação nem estado expresso por ele.
